At the end of the season, you can put together a nice basket of some snacks, home baked goods, and a thank you card with a gas gift card inside . I helped out a friend in a similar situation last year and that’s what she did for me. While I was certainly not expecting it, I felt very appreciated .

Also, be sure the family knows that if they have other plans after a particular game, it's fine. You will figure something else out. |
Offer to take her to practice or games and/or home from practices. I’ve found most people don’t mind dropping a teammate off on occasion, but I always offer to reciprocate.
When I was in high school, my mom gave a teammate gas money to drive me to and from practice when I was an underclassman. It was a little bit out of their way and the money was definitely appreciated. |
I do a Starbucks gift card with a short note thanking them for your help and letting them know they ca. always have you return the favor on the days you can drive. $25 is fine- it’s more the note and the gratitude that matter. |
thank them, make sure your kid thanks them, is on time, is polite. end of season thank you note and small gift card, especially if you know something they like (Starbucks, target, Costco, etc...) |
