The title of the thread is "new all-brick home..." |
I was just looking at houses in Vienna and I truly cannot believe the price points. Seems like you have to be prepared to spend at least 2.5m for a family home (huge, yes, but still! Guess regular families can't live in Vienna anymore). |
2.5 for a new build. There are lovely, well-maintained ramblers, split levels, and colonials all over Vienna. Prices currently range from 950k to 1.3 for them. Sounds like you only want a new huge build which is your choice, but don’t say you need 2.5 for a family home in Vienna it’s absurd. |
I interpreted "new" as "new listing", and "traditional all brick" sounds like an older home. New construction is not usually all brick even if it may look this way. |
As a long time Vienna resident and Vienna lover, this is insane! Who would pay that?! |
And 950K is not affordable for many people. Unless you have a large down payment, it's a huge monthly cost. |
Per the listing, the photos are of a different house:
"Photography reflects the builder’s past projects and design quality. * * *" Listing also indicates that the house will be built in 2026. |
Wow, the squiggly black gutter lines outlining the front porch…truly bizarre |
SFHs in some places are not affordable to anyone who already doesn't have significant equity or very high earning people. A lot of sales these days is money changing hands, people selling homes they have a lot of equity in and buying other homes. First time buyers without high earner incomes have to look at multifamily or small older townhomes. |
The houses you're referencing are tiny and old, and also an insane price point for what you're getting. |
The entire first floor is one open space. It feels like walking into a Crate and Barrel rather than a house. |
I noticed it too!!! |
Very much not my style. |
Is the house already done because they list the building year as 2026? Everything looks too creamy white. Yuck. |
This. |
