If you grew up in Virginia, how many counties cities have you been to?

Age 52 and grew up in NoVA (McLean). Went away for college and grad school (not in VA). Came back and have lived in Arlington County and Fairfax County. Have visited: Charlottesville, VA Tech, William & Mary, Culpeper, Lexington, VA Beach, Sandbridge, and First Landing State Park. That is about it! Most of our family lives up north or in the Midwest so we do not really travel within VA very much!

Oh, and I have also been to Richmond, Kings Dominion, and Busch Gardens!

I’ve been to a lot because I travel there for work. So I’ve driven to them or through most of them at some point. I haven’t been all the way to Bristol.

We literally moved to VA twenty years ago but were always so busy with kid activities that we tended not to go anywhere unless it was for a sports tournament, college visit, etc. Whole swathes of this beautiful state that we have not seen and enjoyed. (I have always wanted to go to "Walton's Mountain" and I'm really excited about the Better Homes and Gardens idea house which is somehwere near Charlottesville this year.)

Us too, are you trying to complete the VA state parks “Master Hiker”?

This is part of what prompted my post. Planning take my kid there soon.

Well thanks for starting this very pleasant thread. I’m not the pp who mentioned Natural Bridge but I did take my son a few years ago over spring break. We stayed nearby at an Airbnb that was a huge teepee on a farm and had so much fun. Highly recommend!

Im at 101. Missing mostly the counties along the WV border, and NC border around Danville.
