Love the House to Death in McLean but How do you get places from there?

Anonymous
Relentless vulgarity for people who want to spend half their lives in a car. No thanks.

You know, I see these houses with all this wasted space and I think of the scene in Dr. Zhivago when Yuri comes back and Tania's huge family apartment has been divided into housing for like 5 families.

The noise must be terrible.

This house looks awful.

Sorry you can’t afford luxury like that. Enjoy living around so many other people.

then. Not so much anymore…owner just let it go did zero updates so now a hideous, bloated box overlooking noisy 495!

You're being a bit dramatic, don't you think? Although I am sure the owner paid a pretty penny back in the day for all of those draperies! I would have had them removed before listing as they are extremely dated. Maybe kept in a box in the garage in case someone likes them still.

DP. Did you look at the history for this house? They listed it for over $3.0 million in 2021 and sold it for $2.375 million four years later. Time hasn’t been kind to that house and the expansion of 495 has made the location far less appealing as well.

We have staff that runs errands for us. Most people have drivers.

My grandfather bought that property and was one of the first developers to sell the land to the original owners.

Huh? You take the little road to Balls Hill and go to downtown McLean or Chesterbrook, which are 12 and 15 minutes away.

This is across the beltway from Balls Hill. You come out into the construction zone and then go where you like. The biggest problem with living in that area is there are zero accessible restaurants or grocery stores - everything is a 15-20 minute drive.

DP. Luxury? The price per square foot is quite low for McLean. It is not a desirable house.
