Love the House to Death in McLean but How do you get places from there?

Anonymous
This one just sold, great big house for the money and right by Potomac River. But being wedged between Potomac and American Legion Bridge how do you get out of house to go places?

what are you talking about? the same way most any McLean dwellers get anywhere. And you love this house "to death"?

You get up to Georgetown Pike in a couple of minutes. That takes you wherever you want to go. I know someone who lived on Rivercrest, although closer to the Pike.

The house is super dated.

The house is dated inside and hideous both inside and out. You get that view only if you're in a air balloon above it. And you're surrounded by horrible neighbors in the middle of hell. There is zero appealing about the place.

You can walk to Potomac River and waking trail to DC under bridge.

Going backwards to Georgetown pike is a disaster in rush hour.

There is a bridge over 495 to get in and out.

Really? Their neighborhood comes out to Balls Hill Rd and is like a block away from Georgetown Pike.

You love this house? This house where the owners are so lazy that they painted all the cabinets but kept the refrigerator panels brown?

I think the traffic is primarily on Balls Hill heading north towards the Georgetown Pike/495 interchange. Balls Hill is not particularly bad north of Georgetown Pike. You can also cut over on Benjamin and Douglass to Ingleside if you're trying to get to the center of McLean.

It's less convenient that the location might suggest, but not completely awful. The area closer to Cooper MS on the other hand is a nightmare.

But, it’s…a…sub zero.

Also, if You’ve ever done the walking trail
To dc on the Va side, along the river, (and back) you’re in for a real adventure.

Fantastic views of the Beltway every time you drive out of the neighborhood for anything.

I know the owners of the house. Originally built late 1980s and it looked like a mansion
then. Not so much anymore…owner just let it go did zero updates so now a hideous, bloated box overlooking noisy 495!
