MTV VMAs 2025

Artists still make videos, and those videos are shown on something called "MTV"? Really?

I think it is due to her age possibly - - specifically menopause.
Plus she has gained a lot of weight over the years….

No shade thrown.
After all she IS 56.
And a half.

You act like 56s half in the ground lol. Many of us past 40 are very active – athletics, dancing, no issues with heels. I don’t think it’s an age issue. But she could have stiffness in joints or maybe those heels were just too much for her.

I mean, clearly that’s why there’s still an award show. Most millennials and younger watch their favorite artists music videos on YouTube and TikTok not MTV.

This is the first I’ve heard of the VMAs in 20 yrs. I thought the show stopped.

This exactly. Music videos still get millions of views on YouTube.

I know I was made to watch it a few years ago because both my girls are obsessed with Shawn Mendes.

We came home from our evening walk with the dog to find our teen watching it last night. Then our elementary schooler came wandering down and watched a little bit, too (she's a big sabrina carpenter fan-glad she doesn't understand what that song she sang was about!)

They did NOT like Busta - to be honest, I wasn't a fan, either.

My teen thought Ricky looked hot "for his age" - he's like 5 years older than me, so thanks for making me feel ancient ;P

And we all were very confused by Mariah.

That ain't working. That's the way you do it. Money for nothing and the chicks for free.

Jessica Simpson looked beautiful despite her dress; Ashley Simpson ... not so much.
Why does Ariana Grande always make that expression?
LL Cool J looked beautiful; Mrs. Cool J ... not so much.
Lenny Kravitz looked hot as usual, nothing new there.
Brittany Snow looked beautiful.
Sabrina Carpenter looked ... weird. Dress was beautiful but looks like she borrowed Harry Styles feather boa from a performance he did a few years ago and it didn't match her dress.
Doja Cat - her look gave me an '80's vibe
Ricky Martin doesn't look like Ricky Martin anymore. He doesn't bang.

Lenny Kravitz is still the coolest guy in any room he happens to be in.

Didn't watch this award show, but in general -- my god, Lenny Kravitz. I saw him perform years ago in a small venue, and the way that man strutted around and owned that room was amazing. Dude could push a grocery cart down the aisle in Costco and make it look like the coolest thing ever.

I watched the Ozzy segment to see Yungblud—who is obviously the heir apparent to the “rock and roll” lifestyle. He looks good in leather pants and has the right vibe, but his voice really isn’t that interesting.

Ozzy, Aerosmith, Billy Idol, etc. all had interesting voices to go along with their rocker aesthetic. Sadly, I’m not sure Yungblud’s pansexuality will resonate with the masses, but maybe I’m wrong?

I’m the opposite. Love his voice.

Is Ariana method acting? She acts like Glinda 24/7 out in public. Its... odd to say the least.

I like her message tho and how she encouraged anyone suffering with their mental health to hang on. And her support of the LGBTQ community.

That's cute!

Different poster, but Conan Gray's my favorite artist of his generation. It used to be Chappell Roan, but I had tickets for All Things Go last year, so, enough said.

Ariana bugs me on so many levels. I was forced to endure her voice on those Nickelodeon shows because my younger child is obsessed with them. I’m glad that she supports important caused, but her voice makes me twitchy.
