5'0" and 250lb is called obese

No, petite means small. Usually under 5'2" for a woman and under 120lbs.

There are plus size petite sections in certain stores. It depends if you are looking to describe someone, then no, you likely won’t call them petite.

But if you are looking to find clothes that fit you might need plus size petite clothes if you are overweight and short for your proportions. I’ve btdt at different points in life. You know the brands that carry this if you need it.

She’s not looking to describe someone.

She’s looking to insult and shame someone.

Is there something wrong with with you, OP?

Yes, OP created this thread because she has a fat friend and she cannot say these things out loud to her fat friend, so she comes to shame her anonymously online. That's the kind of person OP is. A real winner.

Anonymous wrote:I always thought a petite woman was a woman under 5'3 who is slim like ariana grande or Reece Witherspoon .

However recently I've seen who are 5'2 who weigh 220 lbs with a 40 inch waist saying they are petite /dainty . While these wear petite clothing socially they don't look petite/dainty in the same way a tall slim woman isn't petite/dainty to me .

LOL, a woman who is 5 2 and 220 lbs is extremely obese. Not even close to petite.

People regularly call me “petite” and “tiny”even though I’m 5’6, quite a bit taller than the clothing industry’s definition for petite. I am very small-boned and thin, with narrow hips and shoulders, small hands and feet and delicate features. I just look small.

As far as clothing stores, “petite” just means short.

.

Kate Middleton isn't petite, she's very tall. And a stick, but definitely above the 5'3"-5'4" cutoff for petite clothing.

I don't think of Reese Witherspoon as petite until I see her standing next to other people. Ariana Grande is tiny.

All shorter and even average-height women, are treated terribly. Heightism is one of the most acceptable types of discrimination.

BS. Short girls rule.

Petite=short and thin. Petite clothing=short limbs and/or torso.

A perfect example of petite to me is Sabrina Carpenter.
