How old was your child when they reached 40 inches long or 40 pounds?

PP with the long torso-ed kid here -- forgot to add that we have the Graco ComfortSport in that car.

Rather than relying on everyone's anecdotal evidence, why not actually plot the data for your kid on the CDC growth charts.

If your child is following the 75th%ile in height, you can look up when he hits a given height.

We bought a Roundabout but think now it might have made more sense to go for a seat with a larger upper limit. That's unless you have to travel with the seat a lot and are willing to buy several more car seats!

My dd hit 40 inches at about 4 years (still not 40 pounds yet) and ds will hit 40 inches at about 3.5 years.

Ditto the recommendation on printing out and using growth charts! Obviously, every child grows differently and doesn't follow a perfect curve. However, I've found it very helpful to be about to forecast their heights and weights for both car seats and clothing sizes!

My dd is 6 years old and not yet 40lbs...but most boosters have lowered the weight thing to 30 pounds if that's what you are wondering. My dd is in a Sunshine Radian.
