Stop running the school bus stop signs! There’s kids coming off and getting on! Why do people do this?

You're describing a scenarios that involve egregiously running the stop sign and putting kids in danger. It doesn't matter that is isn't happening in a neighborhood-- kids are still getting on or off the bus.

It would be egregious for a bus driver to release kids across a multi lane highway with 50 mph speed limit. That doesn't happen thankfully, but the tickets still come flying.

One of my close friends was hit by a car in such a scenario, so you're not going to get any pity from me.

But you're right that it shouldn't be about money. Violations caught on camera should result in 3 points, too.

It is about money.

Same thing happened to me! I was so upset--I'm literally the last person on earth that would zoom past a school bus. But I do think there is a special place in hell for people who do!

Did you check the video? My wife made the same claim, but the video showed otherwise.

A lot of people think they can sneak through on the flashing yellows before the stop sign comes out. But the whole point of the flashing yellow is to tell you to stop before that happens.

But sometimes the bus driver never turns on the red lights. The bus just sits there with the yellow lights flashing while cars back up behind you and eventually people start honking.

It's stupid and dangerous, for sure.

But I also saw someone stop when a bus was on the other side of a median. That is ALSO stupid and dangerous.

Too many people just simply don't know how to drive - both in practicality, and law.
