is there anywhere in DMV that can compete with Shorthills, NJ in terms of prestige?

Weak attempt. Short Hills is maybe Vienna? Probably more like germantown.

Germantown doesn’t have tear downs for $2 million. Neither does Vienna.

All I've been introduced to are medicore neighborhoods in the DMV...

DMVer here - grew up within 5 min of Short Hills.

These people are ridiculous. I get what you mean. But I will say after living here for 20 years there is absolutely no area just like Short Hills or any NJ town near Short Hills for that matter (Chatham,
Mendham, etc). I think the closest property similarities is Forest Hills or the area of Chevy Chase between Conneticut and Wisconsin Ave. Don't even think about Leesburg, Great Falls, Potomac, they're much more boring and huge homes with no personality. One of the things I loved about NJ homes is the personality.

Obviously, the first place Executives come to make major life decisions is crowdsourcing at DCUM.

If Short Hills is Great Falls, Summit is Chevy Chase Village.

Who cares? Seems like that means people in short hills are paying 2M to live in a germantown equivalent.

I have never heard of Shorthills before so it can't be that prestigious. Maybe you should stay, OP, if you are so pleased with it.

The DMV is quieter. Bezos lives in Kalorama.

LOL at thinking Bezos actually spends anytime in that house. It is strictly somewhere to stay for a few days when lobbying or overseeing HQ2.

If you have Bezos money and want to live an East Coast city you are living in New York. Literally no one with money like that lives in DC because they want to.

Well he doesn’t have a place in Short Hills.

Yes, people tend to live near where they have to be for work. Many people live in NYC who would choose to live elsewhere if they could.

Go to Zillow and set the price at $15M. You’ll be able to see what’s available in the DMV. It’s all much quieter than Short Hills. Heck I would say the UES is quieter than Short Hills.

Chevychase and Greatfalls are what you want.

Woodland-Normanstone Terrace seems closer to the vibe if you don't need acres of land?

Like maybe this https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2838-McGill-Ter-NW-Washington-DC-20008/456631_zpid/

Well done : )

There is no place that in the DMV that would suit you. Best to stay put in Short Hills or move to a different area.
