I think the issue is that conservative lawyers who would be nominated by Trump don’t want to spend their lives and careers living in DC full-time as a judge. They despise cities, they want their big place in the countryside, and they loath spending the rest of their years in DC as a judge. So they use big cities as a wedge issue to complain about crime and lax judges, but they don’t actually want to put in the work as a judge for the rest of their lifetimes to fix the problem. That’s someone else’s responsibility. |
