Periods coming every couple of weeks

I think it can be normal in Peri. But I’d still see a doc if youre concerned.

Sounds like me (excessive bleeding, fibroids, cysts and polyps), also had the biopsy, and don't remember the results taking a long time (or that much pain, I guess every body is different). My doc put me on a low-dose, progesterone-only b/c pill for one year - I just went off at the end of August. I go back in early Oct, and am hoping to be in menopause, and no need for surgery. Or, I could need it for thr fibroids. I had 2 periods since going on the progesterone pill, the last one being in January, 2025.

I had similar periods and it ended up being adenomyosis. An IUD helped with the bleeding.

My periods are all over the place. Will have light bleeding for five days then get my period again 14 days later and then sometimes will go for three months without it. I tried BC to help steer things back toward more regular, but that didn’t help. Ended up starting HRT and while that hasn’t helped regulate my cycle, it has helped with all the other peri related issues.

The irregularity of your periods is less concerning than the fact that they are that frequent AND heavy.

I had this exact same thing happen about a year ago and definitely recommend going to your doctor for a pelvic US. It probably wouldn’t hurt to start taking an iron supplement either.

My periods were every two weeks, lasted for a full week, and so heavy for about six months. Then one month my period just never went away and I went to the doctor who did an US after I had had a period for like 4 weeks straight. It was miserable.

Long story short my lining was very thick so they had to do a biopsy to check for abnormal cells - thankfully there was nothing present and my doctor thinks my hormones were just totally out of whack and kept signaling to my body to thicken my endometrial lining 24/7 (which is only supposed to happen a one point in your cycle).

I got an IUD since I can’t take estrogen and the bleeding stopped immediately and I maybe have a couple days of spotting every 3-4 months now.

Don’t suffer, go see a doctor.
