My daughter and I watched a lot of it together during the pandemic virtual school days. She loves it and even dressed up as Buffy that Halloween - in mom’s old clothes that were 100% Buffy fashion inspired
She freaked out the day she watched Angel’s vampire reveal. And then had a similar reaction when she saw the episode when he turns bad. She fell for Angel just like I did when it was first on. I remember even asking my cousin if he knew DB from Ithaca College, and telling him to please invite DB to his wedding the summer after I graduated college myself. Other than the tech, I think the show holds up. We’ve had more issues with episodes of Friends - which she also loves. |

We watched the whole series during a particularly hard time for our family, and it was so great and cathartic. Totally unlike our usual watches, but perfect.
The silent episode, the episode from Xander’s perspective, the musical one…all so good. And yes, The Body episode was devastating. (There was only one episode I can recall that was truly off, and it had to do with Spike, whom I otherwise loved). Glad Charisma is coming back!!! |
| I'm terrified that it will be awful and ruin Buffy. |
I could have sworn the latest news was she was NOT - though she has a podcast that is Buffy/Angel inspired |
That's what I read, too. It sounded like she was open to coming back since she had a premature departure from Angel, but that she hadn't been asked yet. Also I had read that the Spike actor had to go to therapy after filling that one intense and extra disturbing episode (if you're talking about the one from the later scenes where instead of being vampire style evil he was more human evil). |
| I can't wait to see how many gay and trans vampires they can shove into this reboot |
sit right the hell down, loser You obviously aren't a fan if you think the original wasn't already somewhat "woke" ;P Her best friend was in a lesbian relationship and it was just accepted. It was one of the first gay kisses on TV. You don't have to watch. I'm sure most of the cast and producers prefer you don't. |
"the slayer" -- but at the end of Buffy, there were a ton of slayers. |
| Frankly, most of the actors are just too old and/or washed out to come back. Buffy will be in a Watcher-like role, I imagine. SMG is my age! |
Smg is like a month older than me, and I would LOVE to look like she does. She stays in shape. Did anyone see the video of her training with the new slayer? |
| For those of you with smart TVs, check your "live" channels. I have a 24/7 Buffy channel playing on mine. It's kind of fun to see what episode is on rather then choosing on streaming. Like shuffling a playlist. |
What? Ok, I always dreamed of this day . I’m at the show with the guy who stole Spike’s look at Merriweather, but I will check when I get home
|
No, they should not. She’s a gross MAGA shill. BtVS stood for things MAGA hates so I doubt she would have wanted it anyway. |
Yes! |
| I know that Joss Whedon has been me-tooed for not so nice behavior towards his female actors. However, the best part of Buffy was the smart writing and story development spearheaded by him. Maybe they got some of the original script writers back, but I am very concerned it's going to come off as dumbed down compared to the original series. |
