Well, I mean, had she had anal sex more then perhaps she would have several dozen children.

Essentially yes. The cult they were involved in teaches that wives are supposed to be joyfully available to their husbands so essentially if he wants sex she must oblige. As far as the number of offspring the same cult teaches birth control is a sin and killing babies. They also did things to increase chances of conception like she wanted her babies early.

This. And to put their husbands before their kids. I read something that if a baby wakes up crying during sex, the woman is not supposed to go check on them until their husband has finished. I can’t imagine how awful that sex must be…

Mostly in this extreme case it's about 1) not using birth control and 2) very high fertility. In particular, that nursing doesn't stop (or potentially even really decrease) her fertility, which is fairly unusual. While nursing is not 100% effective as birth control, it definitely helps promote longer child spacing. Generally, a woman who nurses all her kids will have kids roughly 2 years apart (or more), but the reason they have so many kids is that she had one basically every year. Other people with their belief system (no birth control) tend to top out at more like 8-12 kids depending on age of marriage and fertility, and families like that are a dime a dozen in fundamentalist circles.

I nursed 2 years and coslept with my babies and still got periods after a month when they were born…

I have seen more families than usual while on vacation this week with 5 or more children.

It just seems so selfish in this age with fewer resources.

Unfortunately we'll be seeing more of this. There's been a lot of propaganda targeting family size. You see that propaganda right here on DCUM. It's selfish for a multitude of reasons.

Yes, but you’re dutifully pro-choice, so you’ll just roll with whatever decisions women make with their own bodies. Right?

Her not being allowed to say no is terrible, but it's not the reason they have 19 kids. Many couples could have lots of kids just from times the wife initiated...it's the birth control that stops this from happening.
