Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar

Are Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar sex addicts? Because I kinda think they are!

I dunno. If you were really fertile, had a healthy sex life and threw out your birth control then you might have the same results too. My great-grandmother apparently used to claim that she got pregnant every time she had sex. She had 14 children.

The people I know IRL who have a lot of kids also seem like the kind of people who have a lot of sex. The man also don’t look at porn or masturbate, so that might be part of it

Be less concerned about them and more concerned about wasting your brain cells and time watching shows like that.

I don't think they are - but I think she is available for sex whenever he wants it, which is probably a few times a week. I know a sex addict, and the couple is having sex 3x a week, often on drugs, and seek out adventurous sex etc., outside of the home.

I don't know but if you watch Shiny happy people and you are a normal human you will think they are evil "christians". I was disgusted by them and their "church" watching that documentary.

Is she allowed to say no? No.

This. Less of a sex Addict and more of a free use hole with no autonomy.

What a dumb, simplistic take, OP. She's in a cult that sexually abuses women.

And there was a whole episode on Jim Bob's tonsil stones, so... 🤢

In addition to throwing out the birth control, you need to convince the older kids to parent the younger ones and/or seriously lower your standards for parenting. If I had 13 kids instead of 2, I can’t imagine having the time or energy to make #14.

+1 they were damn lucky that they had a few older girls to sister-mom the younger boys. I’ve noticed the families with a bunch of boys tend to be smaller even in fundie circles. There’s a semi-famous influencer couple who have 8 kids and “lives on a bus,” they have 7 boys and 1 girl and haven’t announced another pregnancy despite the youngest already being about a year and a half.

They are trying to have as many kids as possible. It’s what their imaginary man in the sky instructs them to do. They feel it is their duty to procreate as much as possible.

No, I don't think the number of kids says much about their sex life at all (other than they're at least having a sex a couple times a month, which describes most married couples, I'd think).

Mostly in this extreme case it's about 1) not using birth control and 2) very high fertility. In particular, that nursing doesn't stop (or potentially even really decrease) her fertility, which is fairly unusual. While nursing is not 100% effective as birth control, it definitely helps promote longer child spacing. Generally, a woman who nurses all her kids will have kids roughly 2 years apart (or more), but the reason they have so many kids is that she had one basically every year. Other people with their belief system (no birth control) tend to top out at more like 8-12 kids depending on age of marriage and fertility, and families like that are a dime a dozen in fundamentalist circles.
