I know right?! |
I don’t get this, don’t you have sex? Isn’t that just as germy as a toothbrush? It wouldn’t occur to me to buy a whole other toothbrush for my spouse. Or kids, tbh. But sure, for a roommate or something. But actually, I would let my women friends borrow my toothbrush if they asked. I would just rinse it out well between. |
+1. And these same people do all kinds of "dirty" stuff in the bedroom |
Yeah those kids need to grow up and get their own personal space and not be using their parents toiletries and such. That's disgusting, and really not safe, as toothbrushes, nail clippers, combs, etc. can spread diseases. Don't want the whole family to get STDs or Hepatitis just cause one of them is promiscuous or unhygenic. |
Sadly, my family is not as "exciting" as yours.
|
Hmmmm, interesting parallel and examples there. Sharing blood is just unhygenic overall. Even with a spouse. Unless you are Angelina Jolie of course.
|
You assume a lot about things you don't know. Talking about your family there. Naivity, it not a Christmas word. |
| This could not be more gross and is how you pass dental caries. |
|
You are not supposed to share toothbrushes or razors or anything that can share saliva or blood borne pathogens. Sharing a toothbrush isn’t the same as sharing a water bottle or spoons or a coffee mug, because every time you brush, you have microtears that allow the bacteria in. Is it the biggest deal in the world? No. I’m an MD and I would advise against it, but if people are choosing to share a toothbrush vs not wear a helmet while biking,
I’m going to come down harder about the helmet. |
I know I said I wouldn't get judgy, but each member of the family has to have their own hairbrush and comb and nail clippers too? |
Okay but if this is someone whose thingie goes in my mouth already, I feel like we are already sharing all our blood borne pathogens, no? |
Why not? Hairbrush = $5-$75 and lasts a few years to decades or more. Comb = $5 lasts decades Nail clippers = $1-$2 lasts decades So for as little as $11 per person, you too can reduce spreading diseases that you might not even realize you have until you infected a family member. |
| DH and I sometimes use the same toothbrush. We don’t share with the kids. |
You mean the spouse you kiss? |
| Gross. Never. Yuck. |
