Are there good options for college admissions counselor to do only a single, hour-long consultation?

Cue the Richard Montauk poster…the one and only who always mentions him and his books. Ones that have no reviews in the last 5 years. He’s a no name who you know personally or who you are related to or are actually him.

Here’s a review about his get into law school book: Literal garbage. Do not go near this book if you want a chance of getting into law school. Information is outdated and, in some cases, just plain wrong.

His most recent book is called: Waiting Tables for Very Good Money: A Guide for Ambitious Waiters and Waitresses

His book abt getting into Brown has 4 reviews, all 4-5 years old.

You make your own mind up.

Uh, no. I've never posted before. He did well by my kid and I highly recommend him.

I don't know why you replied to this, I was the one who mentioned Montauk. It does show that there's more than one parent on here who has used him, I guess.

As a high school junior, you should let your daughter drive the bus and let the chips fall as they may. She is going to be fine no matter what (she sounds driven and organized) and she will learn a lot more and be more confident if she owns her own choices.

I don't think Counselors limit your choices do they? I thought the whole point was that they opened up possibilities, in terms of colleges she may not have on her radar, merit aid that can be mined fully, etc.
