dinner show in dollywood?

Not in Dollywood, but we went to the Hatfield and McCoy dinner show in Pigeon Forge. We really enjoyed the show. I looked at several reviews and the consensus was the food was better at Hatfield and McCoy - we thought it was mediocre. I believe the show is owned by Dolly Parton.

I just watched some youtube videos by a British family who had a fabulous trip to Dollywood and a number of attractions in the area. It was nice to see a Brit’s perspective. They saw a lot of great stuff and had a lot of family fun throughout TN.

They commented on southern hospitality and how friendly everyone is…and that’s always been my experience when visiting TN, AL, AR, OK, GA, etc.

I think Dolly owns most of the dinner theaters. Stampede, Hatfield, Pirates, and I think the Comedy Barn as well.

I grew up going there as a kid for vacation from california and loved the three story gokarts and now I love the mountain coasters. All the people who say its 100%maga are being ignorant. A southern accent doesn't automatically mean you are uneducated or a bigot. Even in the most conservative counties, 2 out of 10 voters vote liberal. It may be a minority, but some of the most open minded and loving people I know call east TN home.

Pp here. I’m not ignorant, nor did I say it was 100% MAGA. But…there are literally Trump stores. I love the area. I love Dolly. It’s a beautiful part of the country. We’ve been several times. So, it’s (according to another pp) OnLy 80% MAGA.

And ICYMI: there are Trump stores and Trump merch in DCA, at DCA, at stores in VA and DE, etc.

It’s weird how so many posters are making assumptions and sweeping generalizations based on what exactly? Appearance? Location?

There’s a lot of unflattering Trump stuff in Gatlinburg, like a fortune telling machine straight from the movie Big with a really bad Trump animatronic. Honestly, we had a hard time telling if the area was pro or anti MAGA in the super touristy parts.

Now I’ve gone down a YouTube rabbit role.

Check out the TampaAerialMedia videos on Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Gaitlinburg and beyond. This guy and his dog make good videos. No clue what his political persuasion is (and I bet some dcumers will immediately dismiss him based on his social media handle, appearance, and accent), but his videos make me wish I could vacation with him. This guy has fun.

Cades Cove Stables offers an hourlong horseback tour. The drive there from Gatlinburg via the bypass is lovely.

Cades Cove has a nice hiking or biking loop.

You can watch YouTube videos online highlighting the various dinner shows. They all look fun. Looks like the stampede has racing piglets and horses if your kids like animals. The comedy barn has a lot of animals too. The pirate one also has mermaids.

We did see the Trump store, but since we didn't go in there was no way to know anyone's politics one way or the other. A couple weeks ago I was driving the kids down Glebe Road and there was a group of protesters holding up Trump = Hitler signs who were yelling at cars while we were at the red light, which was a little upsetting for the little ones. But nothing at all like that around the Dollywood area, mostly just trees, mountains, and tourist traps.

Aren’t most theme parks dry? Other than Epcot and Animal Kingdom, I think Disney is dry.

Universal and Busch Gardens parks are more alcohol friendly.

Dollywood may be dry, but there are moonshine themed bars all over the place down there.

I’m not much of theme park person…or a drinker…but I can’t imagine making vacation plans based on the availability of booze.

Yeah, I can see not wanting to go on a dry cruise for multiple days, it's pretty common to want to have a few drinks on vacation. But not being able to go 12 hours at a theme park probably is an indication of a problem.
