| I am very picky about color (and most other things), and I would pick moss green over black. But I am not you. You need to pick based on whether the bag suits your practical needs (pockets, straps, pickpocket risk, etc); whether the total dimensions are right for your height, and whether your travel clothing palette will go with the color. |
Agree. And the times I have bought a color that didn’t fully speak to me to diversify my wardrobe, I have been disappointed or just don’t use it as much. Go with what you love. |
| Buy the black one. If you decide to commit a crime, no one will be able to identify you by your carry-on. |
| I am old, and I have found that the colors and patterns in the store that I like right now will probably look dated sooner than later, so I usually go with neutral for things I will be using long-term. You can add accessories or a wallet with more color/pattern. |

If it's expensive and a handbag / tote I would buy black, because it will last longer and look better.
If it's luggage, I would buy moss green because it's easier to spot. |
| Go with your first choice. |

I usually say go with your first instinct.
But for me, I always pick black. Over the years I seem to regret the color choices and always like the black item or piece of clothing. It doesn’t get donated. The others tend to quicker. But I’m boring and not into fashion trends. |
The one that feels most comforting or comfortable to me. Feels warm aka speaks to me. Can’t explain it. It’s emotional not necessarily what’s most practical. |

Buy the green. Period.
I used to have a nice (not super expensive but on the expensive side for me) red leather wallet. I picked out red because black (which I used to have) would become invisible when I dropped it in the car (especially) or was otherwise trying to find it. It was stolen once and I replaced it with the exact same wallet. Then a few years later lost it, I forget how. And then it was no longer available. There were a few online (direct from company and elsewhere) same style but not red. I looked at some other red ones, bought one, but it was just wrong. Things like the compartments were not what I liked and the closure (magnetic on the original) was not the same. Hated it, used it for a short while then donated to thrift store. In the end I pulled out an old black one, but I now use a small cross-body and it zips inside so doesn't fall out of my bag as often. You can always find a black bag. Buy the green. |
| I’d have to see it to decide. |

It sounds as if you consider this bag to be a personal item/extension of your wardrobe rather than luggage, so I’d say go for the moss green even if it is a bit more expensive.
For things I buy for sheer practicality, I don’t care what color they are; I’ll always choose the less (or least) expensive color option of an otherwise identical item. If it’s clothing, then it’s a different story. I look terrible in warm, bright colors, so I’m not buying the orange shirt even if it’s $25 to the blue’s $50. |
Exactly. Just as birds instinctively know when & how to fly south for the winter, homo sapiens have evolved with an innate sense of which color luggage is optimal. |
