For years politicians have been complaining that the youth are overweight & inactive, but did any of them DO anything about it?

The presidential fitness test is not fixing a problem unless you think lack of a yearly test named “presidential” is actually a problem.

Did you take this as a kid? I did (and always got the top achievement, so not bitter about it). Measuring how many push-ups a kid does once a year, time for a mile run once a year, etc. is not fixing any sort of health/fitness problem.

Fixing health and fitness in any meaningful way would likely mean money for schools and/or other programs. This test will not and never did have any meaningful impact (other than perhaps some kids traumatized by it LOL).

The current pacer and other yearly tests in PE in FCPS are harder than the previous presidential fitness test was.

Education is supposed to be states rights. How do you see him getting rid of the department of education and making some mandate about the name of a yearly fitness test being consistent and helping?
