This would be helpful to see. Would you submit a 32 OOS? |
DC is applying to UVA EA from OOS and will not submit her 1400. |
Did you look at the school's Common Data Set? If 50th percentile or higher, yes. |
But that's not broken down by instate and out of state. |
That's a 31 equivalent. Not a 32. |
| UVA and other "holistic" will comp any submitted sat or act scores to the high school average. 1400 in a 1000 avg HS is translated as competitive vs the 1500 in a 1400 avg HS. |
|
On the CDS, it's 32 (25%) to 35 (75%).
50% = 33. The conventional wisdom is not to submit the 25% because that's for hooked applicants (FGLI; athletes, etc.) |
Not quite. UGA is probably more difficult to get into because test scores are required. UVA is test optional -- lot of kids with 4.0s that would not be able to compete if they had to submit test scores. |
| A friend's daughter got in OOS last year. She applied ED. At the last minute, her parents got her a counselor based in the DMV to help with the essay and application. Counselor scrapped the (completed) essay and started over. |
| Do not submit a 32. |
Name, please? Just for UVA app |
UVA's out-of-state acceptance rate for the Class of 2029 is 12.5%, while UGA's out-of-state acceptance rate is around 28%. UVA is MUCH harder to get into OOS. |
+1. They look for second-tier students who are likely to yield, because nobody in their right mind would pay that tuition for an oos public. |
Seriously. |
You sound bitter. |
