Going rate for orthodontist?

I think it really depends on the complexity and what the provider charges, and if your insurance covers it. My insurance doesn't cover ortho, and with my 9 year old her comprehensive phase 1 invisalign it was around $4,500 for spacing/mild overcrowding. I imagine phase 2 if we need it will be additional.

$1,200 out of pocket (Delta Dental) in Burke, VA for phase 1 (expander, top braces, retainer).

Braces would have cost same amount. Not complex case.

Seems like I got robbed by that same largest Invisalign provider in Arlington for an 18-month treatment (Northern Virginia Orthodontics). Mine was closer to $8K, though maybe $5K after insurance (and I paid upfront). In my defense, went to three providers, and they were all very close in price. I have heard anecdotally that insurance ends up being useless because they just jack up the price.

We paid 10k but we did braces in Romania.
