I had an old co-worker who had Indian heritage and was very offended. Only thing was that I had worked with her for many years and would have never guessed that she claimed to be part Indian until the push to change the Redskins name got started.

The Indians I know personally all prefer cricket.

Seriously, we're still going to call people Redskins? And are we going to call them Orange skins and Pink skins and brown skins and white skins and black skins and yellow skins?

Why pick such an offensive mascot named for some physical characteristic that no person can change? Just choose some animal like wolves or lions or falcons or sharks etc and be done with it.

You realize it's not just called Museum of the American Indian by accident, right? Many people prefer this term.

Who cares what the family of the man the original image was based on thinks? Who cares? Just giving them some extra weight is an indication of primitive thinking.

We don't want that image anymore. We don't want that name anymore. Just give it a rest Trumpers and move on to something more important. Like football maybe.

Yes people have issues with the fighting Irish. That is terrible. I don't even understand why they still use that.

How about the DC N*****? Just as offensive and Trumpers would love it. Joking obviously. Just pick a name that's not backward and offensive.

The equivalent would be if they had a pint glass as a team image.

It's really bad. How about the fighting Germans or the fighting Mexicans or the fighting Malaysians? It's a terrible mascot.

I wouldn't have picked "Commanders" either but it works and it's done.

What you didn't like WTF team?? It was so Danny boy thing.

I know lots of Native people and none of them *liked* Redskins. Some were more bothered than others but they all found the name offensive.

The name change is done. People really seem to have acclimated to the new name, we've already debated it, time to move on.
