Wedding five weeks after due date?

Anonymous
Does this woman have no mother, aunts, friends? Anyone who has given birth knows this sounds absolutely horrific. Like imagine having mastitis and having to go through with a wedding…

Also, how big is the wedding???

I’m mainly thinking about how HUGE some women’s breasts are a few weeks PP. Will her dress accommodate that? Will she leak? But like OP said, no one’s business but the bride.

My friend is currently pregnant, getting married just four weeks after her due date. It’s a typical wedding, too, at a typical venue with dancing and everything else you’d expect. I can’t stop thinking that if she has to have a c-section, or runs late, she is going to be in rough shape at this wedding. Can you imagine being 3-4 weeks PP and doing this, let alone 4 weeks post-abdominal surgery?

Anyone who has a baby before marriage should just go to the local courthouse to get married. A flabby belly in her virginal white gown should give all the guests a
a good laugh watching a whale waddle down the aisle!

It's also the business of the guests who have to watch this disgusting scene

Nope. I had to have an emergency c-section. I was still an exhausted mess 4 weeks later.

Hopefully things go well for her.

I had 2 C-sections and the dress would have been my biggest concern. The mother-to-be is not bed bound, it will be fine.

She'll be fine. I had 3 csections and was back on my feet easy in 2 weeks.

I was fine with my first but not with my second. It was a much harder recovery.

But more than that, waking up with night sweats and soaked with leaking milk. And not sleeping at all. I didn’t sleep at all during that time.

People saying MYOB aren’t women who have given birth or people who don’t like to gossip. I don’t know her, I’ll gossip with you!

How old is she?

I had my kid at 26 and was a bridesmaid when they were 4 weeks. I flew with them shortly after.

Was it easy? No. But it was fine...and I had support, so it was just kind of how I did what I wanted to do.

Would I do it again? God no. In retrospect, probably wouldn't take my 4 week old to a wedding, but we had our own table with my family and were careful.

I'd relax. She knows her risks and risk tolerance and levels of support. Which you do not seem to be much of a part of!

Sounds quite risky! I had a freakishly easy delivery and post partum with my second and could have done this no problem but with my first I was hospitalized at the time! You never know how it’s going to go. I guess they can’t reschedule due to deposits etc but my money is on it being a disaster.

Good for you (and I mean it sincerely). I’ve had two c/s, one emergency after 14 hours of labor, the second scheduled. I was definitely *not* back on my feet easy in 4 weeks, let alone 2. Especially with my first, it probably took closer to 6 weeks to even be able to walk a flight of stairs without wincing in pain.

I was perfectly fine all 3 times a few weeks after delivery. Sure I was tired but physically I was completely fine. I wouldn’t want to do this but its totally possible if delivery is uncomplicated.

I was the matron of honor in my sister’s wedding 4 weeks after my due date. As it turned out, I delivered 7 weeks before the wedding. I’m very glad I had the extra 3 weeks to recover.

But you didn't have the stress of planning a freaking wedding!!

Can you imagine planning and getting ready for a wedding on just hours of sleep? "I was totally fine" Yeah for maternity leave! Not for being a bride.
