Wedding five weeks after due date?

Anonymous
I know, none of my business. But I can’t stop thinking about this and I just want to anonymously discuss.

My friend is currently pregnant, getting married just four weeks after her due date. It’s a typical wedding, too, at a typical venue with dancing and everything else you’d expect. I can’t stop thinking that if she has to have a c-section, or runs late, she is going to be in rough shape at this wedding. Can you imagine being 3-4 weeks PP and doing this, let alone 4 weeks post-abdominal surgery?

So you're worrying about something that will have zero affect on you, and something that MIGHT have a complication that ... ::checks notes:: also will have zero affect on you? Got it.

Wow, what kind of friend makes a post to talk about another friend behind their back?

Yes. I’m thinking out loud.

No, sounds insane. Get married before delivering, to all sorts of reasons.

I mean, lots of people. It’s anonymous. Don’t act holier than thou.

Is there any backing out now, or will she lose deposits, etc?

Offer to be the one who takes care of the baby, if you're really a friend.

I was still in recovery at 6 weeks pp, after a difficult delivery, but no c-section. Some women heal quickly. Hopefully she won't have a C-section.

No. You're catastrophizing someone else's life. That's weird.

Here’s what I’d do; elope now/have a civil ceremony then 4 weeks postpartum have a fabulous celebratory event.

I was my sister’s MOH while 5 weeks postpartum and it was rough - I was breastfeeding and had to wear absorbent breast pads and find a bra AND dress that worked with my body.

Yikes! 😱
I agree this sounds absolutely nuts!

Your friend must be a FTM & is under the false impression that babies arrive exactly on their due dates + w/zero complications too!

Honestly, I would’ve been fine assuming I trusted whoever was watching the baby. I had two very easy vaginal deliveries and bounced back quickly both times.

Can you report her to authorities?

Sounds stupid for 1000 reasons.

Yeah, that wedding is getting canceled.
