I have an old accord and have mysterious issues now I really hope it's not the transmission or the catalytic converter going as I won't be able to afford those fixes. |

2021 odyssey with 50k and struts are shot. Honda was in denial of it while it (and claimed was X or Y ) as still under warranty and problem still persisted and now they claim it's the struts.
Reading Op's posts and others (especially on Reddit) and talking with friends who also have hondas, just feeling like I got a dud. What does it take for a car mfr to issue recalls? A safety issue? I guess struts dont count. |

I'm so sorry. This happened to me at 67,000 on a 2020 Odyssey in April and Honda was awful. In my case the car was having trouble getting out of first gear starting at 55,000 while still under power train warranty. At 55,000 miles they had changed the transmission fluid and wrote the repair order as if I should have done it sooner, but their maintenance schedule is actually first change at 6 years or 90,000 miles.

Mine did and I had all my service records, but Honda still has fought me tooth and nail. First and last Honda for me. Subarus have been great for us. We're on our third. Unfortunately, nothing in their line up is quite right for us. |

You may want to read the TSBs. They are on the federal highway website for each car and are the communications the manufacturer sends to dealers to advise techs on issues that are commonly cropping up. Eventually, if it happens enough it becomes a recall, but first it is a TSB. |

No, recalls are only for safety issues. Not just a trend of a certain reliability issue. Your point about TSBs is a good one, though. |

No, the owners manual does not provide a schedule based on time or mileage regarding transmission fluid or much else. It says only to follow maintenance minder reminders which in my case never went on. They tried to say I ignored them. I found this schedule as it was linked from my local Honda dealer’s website, but it is actually on Honda the manufacturer’s website. Techinfohonda is Honda’s own website for their technicians. Somehow the mediation and goodwill department seem not to know of it. Seems unlikely. Feel free to ask me other questions. Happy to help others in a similar situation. |

Not sure that’s true anymore. Kia Telluride has been best in class for a long time and they both back their cars with a 10year/100,000 mile power train warranty. |
