Are you Mitch Cumstein? |
Mine has a husband pillow. It’s comfortable to use on the bed to feel like they have a couch. People here are making it sound like this is some fussy thing, but it’s normal, lots of the student rooms I have seen have them, even boys. |
You know who that man was, Danny? |
Look up "dakimakura" |
Most freshman boys want four regular pillows, and then four to six cute throw pillows of different shapes/sizes. They also like their regular blanket, and then two throw blankets in contrasting colors. |
Mine has 2 regular bed pillows and a husband pillow for sitting up and talking, watching TV, or their computer screen |
There are other activities in bed. Just FYI. |
If you don’t want white, light colored, navy or black sheets, what does that leave us with? Sage green? Scratching my head here. Wouldn’t this show “fluids” just as much as off white? |
Both sons had regular pillows + bed pillow/husband that they used a lot |
The pillow you get for him freshman year will be with him until he moves in with his future wife and she realizes how old it is. |
What does he think?
Send him with what he thinks and he can order something else if he reconsiders. We’re supposed to be preparing them for launch. He needs to think about his needs and learn to reassess when he has more information. |
PP who just posted the launch comment.
My sister made this as complicated as you’re making it and her son was unengaged in the process because she was micromanaging. At one point, she bought multiple shower caddies, lined them up, and made him pick. She could have just said “pick out a show caddy on Amazon/target/whatever and put it in the cart.” |
My son does have a “husband” pillow at school (fe always called it a reading pillow). He has one at home and has used it since childhood, and said he definitely wanted/needed one at school. |
Well you make your decision but just now the darker it goes the more your kids “fluids” are going to show. |
My college senior (male) had a husband pillow and probably 1 regular pillow. I don't remember it if was 2 regular pillows or not. It was a twin bed so he probably didn't want too much. He used the husband pillow to prop up. He has it now in his apartment. His is like some "extra support" version and very firm -- much firmer than what I had in college in the 90s. |
