Criminal alien under deportation order shoots Border Patrol officer in the face

Anonymous
This is under Trump’s watch now. Why didn’t he deport the guy before he deported those who were here legally? Why is Trump focusing on legal immigrants instead of criminals?

And why is it a “growing problem” under Trump?

I don’t like trump but he is right to address this growing problem.

what growing problem?

Extensive research consistently show that immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than the native-born U.S. population.

Here is one study: Northwestern Now, "Immigrants are significantly less likely to commit crimes than the U.S.-born," March 12, 2024.

Focusing so many resources on immigrants instead of actual crime-committing people is MAKING AMERICA LESS SAFE.

Do these studies compare documented vs undocumented immigrants? The presumption being that documented immigrants, including naturalized citizens, commit less crimes — even if you ignore crossing the border without permission is illegal.

No. It was a bad guy who had tried to rob someone earlier and by chance happened to try to rob an ICE agent who was off duty.

Whatever you say.

Because the criminals know ICE is going to be coming for them soon, and they’re getting desperate. During Autopen’s administration, they knew they were safe, and no one was going bother them. Not so now.

Lmao…I have a bridge for sale if you are interested.

This is what happens when you do not identify yourself, do not have a warrant and wear a mask in civilian clothing. The NRA has warned US for years this was coming. This is why the country has armed itself.

Did you even read the article? The CBP officer was off duty. He was sitting in a public park when the subject attempted to rob him. This has nothing to do with ICE agents wearing street clothing while making arrests.

Don't blame the PP. Blame the OP for manipulating the story to make us all imagine an immigrant attacking an ICE agent while making arrests!

Exactly. Is the ICE agent married? Sitting in the park late at night “with a friend” means hanky pinky was going on. At the very least they were trespassing. I don’t know any city park that doesn’t have a “closed after sunset” rule and violators are charged with trespassing. Criminals love to go after victims who are up to no good because they usually don’t want to prosecute. If there had been no shooting, the agent would not have mentioned the incident. I’m glad he survived but he should be investigated. There are also some prostitutes who will set up John’s this way to have their pimps rob them. Have they interviewed his “friend?”

The study is on “immigrants;” not “illegal immigrants.”

Apples to oranges, PP. also known as false-equivalency.

Tell that to Dear Leader and Stephen Miller and make sure they understand how different they are. They are happily detaining and deporting illegal and legal immigrants, law-abiding or not. Actually, scratch that: they clearly show a preference for detaining law-abiding people because they are much easier to detail.

Exactly, there is more to this story.

NYS law prevents holding criminals before trial, immigrant or not. That's the problem here.

It sounds like this migrant was doing a public service by taking down this undoubtedly philandering, trespassing, pandering CBP agent.

Just look at the video of the shooting! You can see what a fascist scoundrel he is from here!

I don't think it's getting "worse and worse". It's just being highlighted more now since Trump used illegal immigration to get into office.

Do you all hear yourselves? You are victim blaming, plain and simple.
Let me fill you in on some FACTS since you folks can't help by excusing the horrendous behavior of these illegal aliens.

This shooting happened late Saturday. The park is open until 1:00 am. So, he was there legally.
He was sitting on a rock with friend looking out at the water. Whether he is married or not is of ZERO consequence. He was there legally and two thugs rolled up and decided they were going to try to rob this agent. What they didn't expect was that he would be carrying - because carrying a firearm in NYC is rare because of their strict conceal carry laws. Fortunately for him he was armed. And was able to get off a shot and hit one of the thugs after being shot twice himself. The other thug took the shot thug on his moped and dumped - yes dumped - him at a hospital. So, they were able to arrest him and they found the 2nd thug the next day.

It absolutely ASTOUNDS me that you people are blaming the actual victim for being in a perfectly legally place.
Neither one of you bothered to condemn this shooting by two illegal aliens. Instead - your attitude was much akin to "maybe her skirt was too short."

So maybe you need to think about your priorities and your reaction to this shooting.

Wow. I’m glad the bad guys were caught. Maybe ICE should have some sting operations to catch felons instead of doing blind jump outs at Home Depot. That would require real investigation though.

Any word on the “friend?”
