This happens all the time after any disaster (see the longwinded social media posts re: where I was on 9/11, etc.). I absolutely hate how narcissistic some people are.


9/11 posts and anything long-winded, I agree. But I don't get what is narcissistic about posting a photo of the time you stayed at this lodge. It's literally a hotel, that was what it was for. If a person has a nice memory from there and posted it, I would consider that an appropriate tribute. Very different than posting "where I was on 9/11" as though a terror attack is something to pay tribute to. Many people died on 9/11. This lodge burning is sad but it was just a building.

It’s probably just because the people doing the posting are shameless posters anyway. And no, I’m probably not the type who should be on social media. I can’t stand the photos of just food, or toes on a beach chair, stuff like that. Yes I want to see your kids on Halloween or the first day of school or whatever, but I can’t take the navel gazing.
