Religious telework?

As a Christian I need more holidays in my life. Why do we only celebrate Easter (which is a Sunday) and Christmas?? Let's bring back the middle ages and all the feast days!

Being a fed manager is like one of the 9 circles of hell. I just feel like my hands are tied daily.

I took this job so I could run my program and I love my program. I don't want to supervise though.

This is so colossally stupid and dishonest. It acknowledges that telework is low cost and has value for work-life balance but only with respect to religious accommodation.

I am thinking of converting to Ethiopian Coptic. Lot of fasting - 180 mandatory days. Although fasting is defined differently than the typical understanding.

Umm we don’t only celebrate Christmas and Easter.

Hopefully it’s an inroad back to telework for everyone.

Does this apply to ANY religious obligation? Like commitments at kids’ religious school?

I doubt volunteer work officially counts but it's all just on your word.

Completely.

That said, I hope every Muslim gets tw the entire month of Ramadan. Because let's be honest, this administration is only thinking of Jews and Christians, and still hates Muslims. So suck it up, administration. Full Ramadan telework!

To be honest Jews (like me) rarely need telework for holidays because for the big holidays we are prohibited from working at all. I am not going to telework on Yom Kippur, I will be on leave. It is helpful though if one can ask for partial telework for a holiday that starts at sundown, as all Jewish holidays do - telework so you can go right into the observance instead of commuting home first. My agency has long allowed that. But if they'd said no, I'd just have gone to work and taken an extra couple hours of leave.

That's what I immediately thought of. Can we get telework on days our kids have religious school because it will make it way easier to get them there.

Answer: no and I wouldn't even ask. But still, I thought of it!

It’s time to join the Satanic Temple.

Remember the Supreme Court has made clear the one thing govt absolutely cannot do is inquire into religious requirements or people’s religious observance.

I'd love to telework before hosting a seder or traveling to one. I would never ask for every Friday. I imagine some will though . All 8 nights of Hanukah also feels like taking advantage.
