If my husband doesn’t get a new cpap

The good machines that record data are ridiculously expensive. There are more options for affordable machines now. When I started I thought they were all outrageous.

Right there with you, OP. My DH was gone on a work trip and it was the best week of sleep I've had in months. Now that he's home again, I'm exhausted and cranky again. At some point each night, I get tired of punching him to roll over and just get up and go sleep elsewhere. He wakes up the next morning, wanders the house to find me, and says "Oh, I gotta get that paperwork in about the sleep study." Rinse and repeat.

+1 Sleep divorce was the best thing I ever did for my health. DH refuses to get a cpap. He’s welcome back when he does!

+2 I think they simply don't grasp how awful it is for their partners.

Tell him to stop being fat so he won’t need a cpap. What a loser.

It will record all night so he can see how bad it is. I recommend this all the time for people who are worried they may have sa but don't want to go through the sleep test.

This is great. Thank you.

Buy one outright if you must. Address the issue rather than complain. If my bipap machine died and insurance would not cover I’d buy a new one myself.

This is how our relationship started deteriorating. He didn't like the machine and wouldn't get surgery so slept in separate bedrooms. 2 years later he was having affairs left and right and we divorced. We would have divorced anyway likely but the snoring kept us further apart. I think back to how all of that may have been intentional.

No extra bedrooms in our house. When mine is snoring I go down to the couch and sleep with the dog—a much nicer sleep mate!

Thank you thank you kind stranger. I will look for one of these at Walgreens. Lots of us can't take that next step.

This is an unnecessarily mean post, and somewhat stupid.

I needed a CPAP as a child, because of the way my throat is built. I was normal weight when I was finally diagnosed with severe sleep apnea in my 30s - because of the way my throat is built.

Some sleep apnea is caused by or worsened by being overweight, but plenty of people who are normal weight have apnea - because of the way their throats are built.
