Intellectuals tend to be too focused on their intellectual obsessions to worry about being polished. They’re the “nerds” and “geeks” from high school. They’re more interested in libraries and labs than exclusive spaces.

I don't know. I went to an Ivy new student gathering a few weeks ago and it was such a quirky and neuro-atypical crowd of kids. Our older kid attends a school ranked 30+ and wow, the Ivy kids were markedly different and not in a polished way.
It will be a great fit for our kid but polished? Not at all.

I know students that go there, and disagree. Honestly, if I didn’t know, I’d like they were regular middle class public school kids, with disregard to rules.

You don’t get this from college, OP. These manners are cultivated over an entire childhood at home, by parents.

Wall St is about addy and blow, not how polished you are.

you can get quite a bit from college, especially if you're intentional about learning.
