Emerson is a favorite of mine. I would look at Pratt, Loyola Marymount in LA, BU, CU Boulder, FSU, VCU and Temple. |
Wow those stats seem very low to me for your high targets.
Do you know which schools take portfolios very seriously relative to other academic stats for art applicants? I haven’t seen that discussed on this site but I’d be interested to hear it! |
Honestly, they all do, if the kid is really talented and winning awards for their work, etc. I would put NYU at the top of the list that considers talent most. Tisch was test optional for those submitting portfolios/auditions way before Covid. YMMV |
Definitely look at the New School in NYC. Great media studies program. |
SCAD |
My kid is graduating from Baltimore School for the Arts. Surprising number of film kids going to Temple and to Point Park in Pgh. Could be worth looking at as safeties? |
Columbia College in Chicago. |
Pace |
DePaul, LMU, UNSCA |
You actually have a pretty good list.
I'd drop out SCAD anc add in VCU and Loyola Marymount. My kid was at a top private hs in DC as a B student with similar interests. His college counseling office really, really liked Emerson, particularly as a place where you can actually get a job once you graduate. My son end up doing something entirely different, but when we were all thinking film, Emerson was high on the list |
No. They've been firing faculty and in huge financial trouble. |
They take anyone and everyone who can pay. A waste of time for most kids. |
This can't be a serious suggestion. |
Art schools don’t care as much about GPA or scores if you have an amazing portfolio. |
