My teen’s was $5300, my insurance covers $3500 |
Shop around. Our ortho said pricing was basically the max the insurance allowed. |
That was our ballpark cost about 4 years ago. They said up to 18 months but she was done in about a year. |
After???? We don’t have dental insurance and paid $3500. Went on a deal time - Arlington too. Dentist, not ortho |
My kid's is about the same, and included a couple rounds of extractions including an oral surgeon. The increase in the premium I'd have to pay for a policy that gave any ortho coverage only made sense if I also had mine done at the same time, and the timing didn't work out. |
I think this may partially depend on the ortho and what is needed. Ours waited until all baby teeth were out to start but my kid needed expander, herbst appliance and braces. We are about 9 months in and it sounds like we have about 6-8 to go with both appliances coming out next month and bottom braces going on. $5500 after ins (which isn’t coving very much). |
I have pretty good insurance (covers half) so my out of pocket is a bit more than $3k. That's for 2 years of braces and headgear starting at age 12.
Child previously had headgear only, at age 9-10. I'm hoping a second round of braces won't be needed after what we're doing now, but they inherited my awful jaw so who knows. |
Yep. Around $5k, plus some offer a ‘retainers for life’ deal. |
$5500, including extraction, braces, and retainer. Treatment is 2 years. |
Man I’m getting ripped off in Arlington. |
about what are you paying? |
We paid $5500 with no insurance for both kids. |
I think I was quoted $5500 or so but got a pretty steep discount by paying it all up front. |
Around $5500 but then dental insurance did pay half. |
Why Invisalign versus old fashion wired bracket braces? |
