I go to places like Kiawah where you rent your own chairs. Your name is on them, no one take them. |

You don’t even have to say that. Just look confused and say “not sure, it was like this when I got here.” However I hold my chair with real stuff, not a towel. I usually lay a dress or coverup and some shoes down. I haven’t had people move that. |
No |
Because I want a waiter to bring me food and drinks. Can’t get this at a condo. |
Not warm in March though is it? |
I would move it if you were gone for awhile. |
Thank you for highlighting this. Totally booking at this resort for this reason alone. |
I have absolutely moved people's stuff if I don't have a seat (or an undesirable seat) and I see chairs unattended for more than 30 minutes or so. Never been confronted over it, but if I was, I'd just play dumb and pretend the chairs were empty when I found them. |
Stay in a suite or club level room that has a pool just for people in those rooms. They are much less crowded and tend to have better bar service. Or you can get a room with its own plunge pool. |
Same. There are so many empty chairs all the time. Just sit in one for an hour or however long you want and then leave and the person that's trying to save it all day won't even know or care. |
Because I want the view of the ocean. |
I accompanied DH to a work trip in Vegas many years ago where we stayed at the Mandarin Oriental, which is now another hotel. They had a hostess stand by the pool where you had to check in, give them your room number and party number and they’d seat you similar to a restaurant. If you left the pool area, they cleared off the chairs. I don’t know why all resorts don’t operate like this. It ensured there was no seat saving and everyone had lounge chairs for the time they were actually at the pool.
There are few things that irk me as much as as spending $$$$$ on a nice resort only to be unable to find any lounge chairs because they’re all taken by 7:00 a.m. |
It may be too cold at spring break depending on when it is. I absolutely love Watercolor but it’s not great for Spring Break unless it’s late. We’ve had some rainy and cold trips there. |
The Breakers in Palm Beach does this too (or at least they did last time I was there a few years ago). |
