Because what he represents is a threat to Israel and its supporters throughout the country.

DP

Are you American or Israeli?

Why can't I be both?

The question was rhetorical, but thanks for underscoring my nation’s problem with dual citizenship citizens. I emphasize “my” nation because I don’t have a conflict of interest.

I live in NYC. thanks for posting this. It seems obvious that 95 percent of the people posting about him have little to no connection to NYC and I suspect several are even paid trolls

Everyone I know loves him, and I'm talking a pretty broad cross section of NYers of all ages, races, economic backgrounds, religions. All my Jewish friends support him. Of course I know there are many NYers who don't support him but in my pretty broad circle he's widely liked.

Our Constitution is not compatible with Islam.
Two questions: what has Mamdani actually said (meaning not stuff your aunt told you she heard he said) that makes you thikn he's a fundamentalist Muslim? and what in our Constitution is incompatible with Islam as opposed to Judaism?

DP

The first amendment.
Freedom of religion. Islam isn't particularly tolerant of other faiths.

Mamdani told the Times he does not identify as Black or African American, but as "an American who was born in Africa." The Democratic socialist explained that his responses on the college application were meant to reflect the complexity of his heritage within the constraints of the available options, not to seek any advantage in the admissions process.

He's about as african american as Elon Musk

He was also 17. It's a nothing story. He's Ugandan and he's Desi. His background is complex. Desis were expelled from Uganda because of their race. His story is not remotely comparable to Elon's.

Np. What parts specifically violate the first amendment more or less than Judaism, as ex?

If anything, I’ve heard ZM as supportive of the first amendment.

I have Muslim neighbors. They’ve never tried to convert me, or expressed any issue with my religion

So you’re a Christian nationalist? That’s not particularly compatible with Judaism either.

Both are naturalized citizens. Hence African-Americans. You may want to learn about the concept of citizenship beyond birthright citizenships. Because for sure you have family members who were naturalized citizens and you don’t want to look as ignorant as you sound.
