Summer camps with outdoor activities

Camp Thunderbird for Boys in MN (they pick up from the Minneapolis airport). Lots of Jewish kids and the camp directors are Jewish but it is not a Jewish camp.

My kiddo is in her second year at Camp Hidden Meadows in West Virginia. They do plenty of outdoors stuff. She seems to love it.

If we’re throwing out MN camp Chippewa is supposed to be amazing and they work up to an 18+ day canoe camping trip in Canada in high school. Looks so cool for the right kid.

If you have girls these two are close to hitting the mark except the kayaking (canoeing instead)
I know someone who went to camp Carys brook and loved it: https://campcarysbrook.com/activities/

Camp Mont Shenandoah is another popular girls one that has a lot of what you mentioned: https://www.campmontshenandoah.com/activities/the-outdoors/

Camp Hidden meadows in west VA is mixed gender and has a true rock climbing, mountain biking, and some other things you mentioned https://camphiddenmeadows.com/camp-activities/

If you’re willing to drive further north I’m sure there are a ton. Timberlake is a fantastic camp and they have a girls one as well. They have rock climbing and true wilderness aspects to the camp: https://www.farmandwilderness.org/camps/timberlake
I don’t know Jewish camps though sorry but I know there are a lot of great ones.

Anything for boys?

Sorry I wasn’t clear - Timberlake is for boys! https://www.farmandwilderness.org/camps/timberlake

My kids are at an MN camp and honestly with summers so hot they love being so far up north and it is really not harder for me (other than additional plane costs). I would not sleep on this option especially for a kid who likes the outdoors.

So good to hear. I posted about this one and the Vermont Timberlake (farm and wilderness camps) option for boys and we love the cooler weather in VT too. Having lived in the Midwest there is nothing like Midwest summers if you can pull it off for your kids!

Came here to add this option in NC I found that looks fantastic for boys and has rafting and lots of outdoors like op was looking for though seems to have some Christian aspects not sure how big: https://fallingcreek.com/about-us/falling-creek-by-the-numbers?utm_source=adwords&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Falling+Creek+Camp+%7C+Camper+%7C+Top+Performing+Markets+V2+%7C+P+Max+%7C+GMC&utm_device=m&utm_keyword=&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21199190076&gclid=Cj0KCQjwss3DBhC3ARIsALdgYxO2CjMU9pu2GBUFnJUd_yMVLfUtAQiWYgYjub2kmUmYuKPaKMFGDa4aAkSPEALw_wcB

Here is the camp Chippewa I was mentioning: https://www.campchippewa.com/

Tina Bryson who co-wrote the whole brain child flies her kids there and sends them there. It looks fantastic.
