My kids are at an MN camp and honestly with summers so hot they love being so far up north and it is really not harder for me (other than additional plane costs). I would not sleep on this option especially for a kid who likes the outdoors. [/quote]

So good to hear. I posted about this one and the Vermont Timberlake (farm and wilderness camps) option for boys and we love the cooler weather in VT too. Having lived in the Midwest there is nothing like Midwest summers if you can pull it off for your kids!
