Why do doctors approve the drugs for people who aren’t obese? Aren’t there rules for their use?

It's the cycle of things. There was a skinny cycle. Then a curvy cycle. We're heading into a skinny cycle of what's en vogue now.

That’s just the thing. The rich are using them and getting skinnier (already thin) and the poor and young are still obese. It’s people without a reason (not obese, not diabetic) abusing them.

Yes. The people who cite the statistics on obesity as a reason it’s okay don’t acknowledge who is actually using and abusing these drugs.

The immense majority of patients on weight-loss injectors are using them as prescribed for legitimate purposes. This isn't hard, PP. Two thirds of adults are overweight or obese. Of course most people will use them legitimately. Fish. Barrel. Etc.

You need to stop cherry-picking articles and social media and realize that there are extremely few people abusing these drugs. The ED concerns are completely overblown. This minuscule population is simply negligible in the larger discussion of whether, statistically, weight-loss drugs are beneficial for public health. Of course they are!

It's not that "eating disorders" (not "ED" erectile disfunction) are on the rise, it's just that new fad drugs are making the lazy people want to try them and resulting in health issues.

Similar to the FenFen thing years ago.

It's not an increase when the women you are using as your sample already had disordered eating practices and body dysmorphia. You just didn't think it was a problem when they weren't stick skinny. I promise you they were suffering with the mental agony just as much before as they are now.

Right, many of the people who need them can’t afford them at all. I’ve had a few physician friends observe that many of their patients that would benefit from them can’t afford them. Many patients who don’t meet the indication and seek them out can pay.

I was not obese, 5ft 6 and 160 pounds, exercise regularly. I also had high blood pressure and high cholesterol and family history of heart disease. Doctor prescribed, I have lost 25 pounds and my blood pressure and cholesterol are back to normal. I feel better than I have in over a decade
