Best beer or alcohol for drinking all day?

Tom Collins. All. Day. Long.

I was at a BBQ yesterday and dh and I drank Michelob ultra light through out the day. I’d normally drink white wine or a craft beer or cider, but ended up having Michelob instead and it was refreshing, light and didn’t give me a headache like a lot of alcohol does after a few hours.

At the end of the night I switched and had one craft IPA and soon after had a headache.

Is there something to light, cheaper beer?

Guinness draft has been the go-to for that for most people for decades since they made it on Nitrogen. It's decent enough quality and not an adjunct like Michelob (and most American style light pilsners) and adjuncts tend to have more toxins than natural Ales due to the nature of the added rice, cellulose, HFCS, etc in those cheap beers.

Guinness is light and lower calorie 140 per 11 oz bottle or 265 per 19-20 oz Guinness "pint".

Main thing is to avoid those cheap beers like miller, budweiser, michelob, coors, blatz, etc. if you don't want a headache the next day.

Also drink a glass of water for every beer you have to stay hydrated.

Estrella Jalisco beer.

Back in the day I'd take a 30 pack of Coors Light out on the water. Perfect for drinking all day and still being able to dock the boat on the first try.

White Wine spritzers are great- half sparkly water, half wine, sometimes with a lime.

I was a Miller Lite die hard for for 25 years. The past 4 years or so I've been enjoying some IPAs...Solace Partly Cloudy, Bells Two Hearted, Dogfishhead, stuff light that. I would never be hung over after drinking a dozen or so Miller Lites. If I have 3-4 IPAs, I'm hurting the next day but they taste so damn good. I can't help myself.

Guinness Zero. It tastes almost the same and near zero alcohol. Sadly, it is the same price as regular Guinness.

Good hefewiezen is great hot weather beer. If you really want to stretch out the alcohol consumption, use hefe to make shandys.

I'm partial to Union Brewing's Old Pro Gose, but most people don't enjoy how sour it is. I also like a quality unfruited Berliner Weiss. But, again, sour, and most people don't seem to enjoy drinking them, let alone for hours on end.

And sometimes I'll just happily knock back ice cold PBRs.

OP if you prefer an IPA, why not drink a non-alcoholic craft IPA like Athletic's Run Wild?

My DH recently discovered the brand Dad Strength. It’s 2.8% alcohol. He doesn’t love it as much as his craft beers but finds it’s a good alternative when drinking through the afternoon on our boat.

She’s still too drunk

The best thing to drink if you're going to be drinking all day is something you'll sip, and alternating plain water in between rounds.

OP probably got a headache because she got dehydrated, and then switched from light to darker.

And the best beer for drinking all day is Red Stripe. Fight me.
