Lodging for 5 in London

I looked into this in the spring. Marrable’s Farringdon hotel has connecting rooms. I had to book, then email to make sure the rooms were connected. There were also a couple of Hilton properties where you could choose connecting rooms at booking. I can’t remember which though. I think one was at kings cross. There are others, but those were the nicest places at the most reasonable prices for my dates.

I have stayed in London with 5 people and an Air BnB was significantly cheaper than a hotel. I stayed at a nice one near Paddington. Plus then we could save money on breakfast and the occasional meal by going to a grocery store.

We are staying at the Royal Horseguards when we go to London in a few months. Seemed like a good location; it's right on the Thames and a short walk to HP and Westminster Abbey and Trafalgar Square.

We just came back from London and also chose air bnb. We stayed in one near Borough Market for one week and then stayed at one in Bayswater (just north of Kensington) for another week. Both excellent, large, and much cheaper than hotels.

Our family of 5 had a great room at Hilton London Metropole. Super easy walk to tube. Great location- breakfast, helpful staff- highly recommend! https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/lonmetw-hilton-london-metropole/

Can't book one room with 5 people at Jumeriah. Really wish people would respond with relevant info to specific questions (not OP).

And it costs big bucks.

Ugh. People are such incredibly poor readers. It’s the Royal Suite, three beds in three ROOMS which are all connecting. Guaranteed connecting three bedrooms between Royal Suite, Junior Suite and Balcony Room. Yes, it’s expensive.

op here - I wasn’t among the previous responders. I went to the website and quickly found the 3BR royal suite. It’s above our price range but I appreciated the suggestion!

Care to share a link? I keep hearing horror stories about air bnb - there’s even a recent one on DCUM right now so I’m nervous about them and prefer the reliability of a hotel.

Not those PPs, but if someone has left a review for a place they stayed at, they are partially de-anonomyzing (?) themselves by linking to the listing here. I like to leave reviews because they are key to the "system" working. But they show up generally with your first name and city/state listed.

That's why I have never linked a place I have stayed at here.

I've had good luck searching on bookings . com because you can filter by number & types of beds, bathrooms, location, etc. Then I price compare with those results or going to the desired property website and reserving directly. (even major hotel brands will list rooms but we've discovered some awesome small properties this way too)

I used that site and it gave me pages of listings of hotels that won’t allow 5 in one room/suite. -OP

also "air-bnb" is the kleenex of short term rentals. You absolutely don't have to use air-bnb to find a good short term rental in London or any other major city.
