Op here and the idea is to try different cakes as a treat. I wouldn’t really want a whole cake. But I think we might say something nicely next time.

$12 a slice is ridiculous.
I love passion bakery in Olney, they have the best mousse cake. The slices are just under $6 each though.

I once complained to Andy's pizza about uneven pizza slices and they sent me a 20$ giftcard and were grateful I let them know.

Who knows why they do it that way. Probably some random employee that doesn’t care cutting cake. Whatever, I’m not saying anything. Then again, I wouldn’t buy a $12 cake slice. Why are you buying these so frequently to compare and care this much?
