It isn’t a league wide call since the conditions could vary across the league, both weather conditions and pool rules. It would be a decision of the referee and the two teams’ reps. But it is very unlikely for a Saturday meet since the teams have all day for the weather to clear.

There are some pools with members who will bring out the pitchforks and torches if the meet goes long.

This. There are some pools where just waiting all day to get the meet in is not an option. This is why A meets are in the mornings, thunder and lightning are generally not a problem and meets can go on in the rain as long as the bottom of the pool is visible.

+1. Different pools have different bylaws and stakeholder expectations. For a good portion, pool operations do not center on the swim team.

I would think of once every few years a pool opening was delayed one day of the summer because of a meet delay that membership would live. You need a stronger Board of it would be that big of an issue
