Fake list

maybe they are not on under investigation?

The article published on May 8, 2025 cited Trump Administration DEI investigation and campus protests, but others schools are being investigated by the feds for possible/alleged Title VI Civil Rights violations (click on the blue highlighted words "under investigation" to see these schools):

Very interesting list that ranks the colleges & universities by percentage of revenue received in 2023 that was from Federal funds (excludes federally backed student loans) in order to show the impact on particular schools if the federal funds for grants & contracts are withheld.

Relax. This is public information regarding DEI & campus protest investigations. However, maybe you should be worried because you are the one who refers to "federal crimes", not me.

Yes, I have linked the source above. The source contained 6 pages of roughly 90 colleges & universities ranked by percentage of revenue received which was derived from Federal funds other than student loans. I reordered a portion of the list of 90 schools to rank by total amount of federal funds (other than student loans) received as revenue based on the study's 2023 data. (However, I was slightly too generous to one school (WashUStL). My error.)

UW-Seattle appears on a second list if you click on "under investigation" for alleged race exclusionary practices in graduate programs. I do not see UCLA on any list, although UCLE is a highly funded research powerhouses which would appear near the top of any list for total R&D expenditures.

UPenn gets over $1 BILLION in federal funds and is not listed at all; Texas A&M 359 million and not listed at all.
Cornell gets around $1 billion and is listed but much lower; Princeton gets 455 million yet lists much lower

No. 2023 federal funding data. Looking at certain schools for DEI & campus protest matters.

The federal funding does not include any federally backed/funded student loans. Includes 2023 federal funds for grants & contracts.

The study used 2023 federal funding data from IPEDS.

List does not include private funding for R&D or private funding of any kind; just federal funds.

The study that I cited shows impact by listing schools in order of percentage of revenue derived from Federal funding excluding student loans. I pulled federal funding data, rounded-up a bit, to create a list from highest to lowest by total amount of federal funds which could be impacted.

“Could be impacted” yes, but for most of these schools they are only seeing a small portion of these funds rescinded. Simply listing schools by federal funding shows potential for impact but actual impact is likely to be much, much less for most of these places.

Sure, but "potential for impact" is the point of the study.

Thank you for your clarifying response to my thread.

Also, it is important to note that many of these schools have preemptively cut programs and jobs due to the potential impact.

This is all in the authoritarian playbook to undermined education and research. Having science and data undermines the idea that all knowledge and fact lies in "dear leader"

Sad.

(OP here.)

Certainly a valid viewpoint, but there is a case for examining these billions of dollars of government grants & contracts for fraud, waste, and abuse. Many believe that educational institution spending has exceeded reasonable levels for administration & administrators salaries/compensation. Tying the funds to conservative or authoritarian mandates does call for concern, but the voters have spoken in giving the House, the Senate, and the Executive Office to one political party. That party's agenda was not a secret, although the details may not be what many expected. If you disagree, then vote in the mid-term elections.

The dollar amounts of federal grants and value of federal contracts received by certain educational institutions is surprising in relation to #15 Harvard University as Harvard is taken by many as a worldwide standard for education and educational research. For example, the $891,000,000 received by NYU is surprising to me in light of the fact that Harvard received a significantly lower amount of federal grant & contract money ($689,000,000).

Moreover, I hope that the list will enable readers to see some non-25 universities in a different light when the magnitude of federal grant & contract money is known.
