Did he buy the title? |
I also doubt he had multi-billion dollar contracts with the federal government. |
Unwavering, unconditional blind Trump love is all that counts. |
I have no idea how someone becomes a Muslim Imam. |
He was from some little Mosque in Dearborn, MI, so no, I don’t think he had a bunch of contracts with the government. He volunteered. The Army used a bunch of guys like him as Chaplains in the early 00’s. They were civilians and they accepted commissions and became Chaplains. Usually they were Captains or Majors. They did some kind of rudimentary training plus theater training for deployment, which everyone has to do, but they didn’t go to officer candidate school or anything. That’s why it’s called sheep-dipping. Because it’s like dyeing the wool while the sheep is still wearing it. I don’t know why they cal it that, but it just is. |
All this makes me recall this article: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/11/business/silicon-valley-christianity.html |
I'm a vet. This is a long established program. It's not disrespectful. |
Doctors are often commissioned through the same program and do not go to basic. You guys are morons. |
Do these doctors have their own corporations with multibillion contracts with the government (that will further fatten up their wallets)? |
We aren’t at war, despite Trumps best efforts. There is no military need to commission SMEs from the tech world other than some weird fetish. It’s 2025, there are clear contracting mechanisms to bring in technical talent without playing soldier. |
Here’s Wired’s take on it: https://www.wired.com/story/what-lt-col-boz-and-big-techs-enlisted-execs-will-do-in-the-army/ |
Musk and the DOGE dudes can move on to the Space Cadets. |
Bullshit. Chaplains don't come in as Majors, they come in as O-2's plus they need a Masters' degree or other graduate degree, plus they have to go through a program at Fort Jackson and meet physical and medical standards, background check etc. No random Muslim dude just waltzes in off the street and instantly becomes a Major and a chaplain. Either you're shining us on or someone was shining you on. |
I said he was attached to us for a time. Did I mention anything else? Nope. No idea what his backstory was other than some Mosque in Michigan. Just another officer, although I did like having him with us when we’d dismount and check out a village because he’d introduce himself and the locals would immediately be interested in him. Jackson? I did basic at Jackson. So everyone rotates through there at some point. And he was definitely an 0-4. |
