If you are Persian, how do you feel right now?

My Iranian friends long for the days before this regime (yes, regime) when they lived great lives and had freedoms. It’s a tragic place now for them, and they hope the government will topple.

Supporting Iran is bizarre for any American, much less supposed liberals.

Exactly.

Some aren’t Islamic, but many are also Islamic.

However Persians are also a super proud people - I would say one of the groups that have the most internalized “cultural superiority”

Curious what the dc / American Persian community feels right now. Are your non-Persian American friends reaching out?

My great great grandma was Persian and though I've no ties with the area as she immigrated as a child and obviously I never met her, I feel sad for Iran's tragedy. How would we feel if another country bombed USA to support Israel?

I'm sad for human loss and also worried about environmental impact of explosion of nuclear material. That is, if there is any because Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction. Who knows if this is another lie from decision makers to pacify American people.

The issue is most Iranians do not want to go back to a time when the inflection point actually happened.

Freeing the Iranian people means rolling back the Arab invasion and re-installing Zoroastrianism.

Pre revolution but post invasion is still not ideal

Zoroastrianism? All the Persians I know in SoCal are Jewish.

We understand it is a beautiful culture with a rich history, contribution to arts, and learned people. I hope that one day the people of Iran will be free of this oppressive regime.

Way to go, white person!

There's a reason they prefer the term Persian rather than Irani.

Irani? Tell me more.

They are classified as White/Caucasian, like the rest of Middle Eastern folks.

NP. I certainly wouldn't believe anything that comes out of Israel or the Trump administration. It has all the stamps of "but but but WMDs!"

That’s a very small sliver of the Persian population and that’s also is not native to the Persian land.
