Wait for Rivian R2. The headlights will grow on you.

How about Polestar?

I’ve got a Polestar 3. By far the best car I’ve ever driven. Quick, nimble amazingly quiet and super comfortable. The software is a bit wonky but gets better with every update, which are every 6-8 weeks.

If you don’t mind the Chinese government tracking you.

Polestar 3 is made in South Carolina.

I love my Nissan Ariya. I can’t understand why this isn’t on everyone’s list of good EVs. Has good range, good design, and nice features.

We got a Lexus RZ300e. Its an EV with a range of 260 miles. We absolutely love it! There is also a Toyota version of the EV. There are many pluses to the EV. Only con is the low range but for traveling in the DMV, it doesn't bother us.

I've had my Bolt for 5 years and love it. It's just an easy car to drive and park.

Are you interested in a hybrid engine?

Don't want a hybrid. No more oil, transmission, spark plug, heat/water pump changes/fixes please.

I did like the Volvo c40. Tesla model 3 (but won't buy Tesla). Rivian is SUV is OK but don't like the headlights, and it's too big. Audi etrons q4-q8 are ok, but everyone I know who has ever bought an Audi has hated them due to maintenance costs and reliability. New Honda prologue looks nice, but received mediocre reviews.

You will get a good deal on a Prologue, and if you feel comfortable with the Honda dealership, then you should have an okay experience there. Make sure you work with one that has sold more than a few EVs.

Are you planning to buy and hold or lease? Leasing can be financially stupid at times but EVs are going through a period of technological change. If you are a low mileage driver, it might actually be a good bridge to the future.

Prologue has a GM powertrain. Wait for Honda homegrown.

Just get a 2- or 3-year lease now. They’re making great deals and tech will sufficiently change in that period that you’ll want something else anyway. Why wait?

If it did the car would be a lot less expensive. New cars in the US average about 50k. If we had free trade the cost of a new car would drop 25k-30k. I really do not understand why everyone is fine with paying a tax of 20k-25k to keep maga union member working. They would not do the same for you.
