How possible is it to book an ~80 mile Uber ride? Will drivers take a LONG trip? Pls share experience.

Totally doable and cheaper than you would expect.

We have done it to the Eastern Shore. It was fine.

This. Uber drivers incentives are geared more towards short rides. Unless it’s a popular route, they’ll be coming empty.

You can pre book Ubers. I travel all the time and frequently need an Uber at 3-4 am for airport runs. I book the night before. Trips are 30-70 miles. Never have had an issue with a reserved Uber.

Tell me you don't use Uber without telling me you don't use Uber.

And double the price.

Nope. Car services are far more economical. The days of Uber being the cheaper option are long gone, now that they’ve driven competition out of the market in many places. Private equity ruins everything it touches.

I wouldn’t even know how to go about identifying a private service other than Google, and I’d feel even less confident about that than googling. I’m facing this also, need to go about two hours outside a largish town.

Use a car service.

Schedule this in advance with a car service.

You can put the address you want into uber and see the price and the estimated wait.

Then you can compare that cost to car services in that area.

We did- our flight was diverted to another airport - I think it was actually diverted to Myrtle Beach. We used Uber or Lyft to get back to our destination since we were in a time crunch and weren’t sure when the plane would depart. It cost about $150.

You can. I have reserved Ubers for my dad ( who can no longer drive) to take him as far as 90 miles. Was a very smooth process and cost about $175

Bull$hit. Price then out. Car service is way more expensive and no difference in service

I've done this drive 100+ times. It's not a quick, easy trip, especially if you take 17 south from Wilmington. If you need to get to the airport in Wilmington, I would book a car service instead.

We had to Uber everywhere, including from the Denver airport to Colorado Springs, and then from the visitor's center at Garden of the Gods to Estes Park (Rocky Mountains!) I was shocked I was able to get an Uber driver to agree!

How did you get on the airplane with no driver's license?
