Essay topic about religion

You want to think about the things you want the essay to convey about who your daughter is and her character. The topic is less important than that piece. Find those parts in the essay and emphasize them.

This. I won’t say the topic of my kid’s essay because it was unique. I thought they were going to write about a leadership experience etc, but the essay coach got them to expand about something they liked that was unique and from there they touched upon different aspects that gave you a fuller picture of my kid as a person. It wasn’t anything you would have known from their EC list or resume.

I think it could work if the focus of the essay is on leadership, community, etc. rather than the religious element.

I would think it's even a plus at very liberal secular schools. They want a diversity of opinions and perspectives.

A truly excellent essay can be about absolutely anything. But you never repeat your lists of achievements / ECs in the content of your essay.
