We always got those and the strawberry eclair bars from the ice cream truck (I preferred the toasted almond bars to the strawberry ones).

Snow cones are terrible. Once you sucked it white it was a useless piece of ice. You know what I'm talking about.

True story.

Mm, and the best Drumstick is the caramel one, followed by chocolate, followed by plain.

We had these things in New Orleans called snowballs that were amazing -- like snow cones, but waaaay elevated.

I am here for this very important and nuanced debate. While taste is of course the most important factor, one must also consider durability and repeatability.

Durability - If it's super hot or you're out in the sun, push-ups are the best, being somewhat self contained. Popsicles also melt a little more slowly. Ice cream sandwiches, while earning top points for taste, score very in this category.

Repeatability - how many can you/ do you want to eat? One Klondike bar is too much. I mean, you're going to finish it anyway, but those things are massive and messy and you're kind of disgusted with yourself by the end. Smaller items are preferable here, because "just one more" doesn't feel bad when you're eating small items. Plus, each new one is frozen, so less dripping. Mini drumsticks win this category.

And taste - ice cream sandwiches, of course. And no need to get fancy. The box of 20 for $6 is bomb.

OP here- I agree- I have raced against an ice cream sandwich dissolving into my fingers before.

I don’t think they exist anymore, but: Frozade. This was an intensely lemon flavored frozen treat, with a texture sort of like sippable sherbet. They were delicious— and I haven’t been able to find a copycat recipe or a vending cart that sells them.

Snowballs, Italian ice, and Chipwiches are great, but Frozade for the win.

Good humor toasted almond bars are top tier

I was a fan of the screwball over the snow cone - frozen sherbert, in an inverted triangle encasing, with a gumball at the bottom!

I also like italian ices, with the wooden scraper/spoon.

Rita's lemon water ice sounds like that. On a hot hot day it's the perfect viscosity and it's intensely lemon with lemon bits in it. You need to get it at the beach.

Frozen Coke.

Snow cone, half grape half blue raspberry.

Coconut and lemon gelato (one scoop each).

Ice cream. Not a big fan but when I want it I want it.

You must not have had one in 20 yrs. They are anything but massive nowdays. They're 30-40% smaller with a much thinner coating of chocolate than in the 90s.
